_EIRE

This ain't no page from an English Student Book, not by a long shot (if they were in black and white, maybe). However, being a teacher of English and diving deep into a language
and its culture has shown me how to appreciate every bit of it. These pics would be perfect to portray Ireland in all its purity.

“Éire” was Ireland’s name until the Constitution of Ireland of 1937
provided “Ireland” as her official one and until the English-law name
of the state was changed to "Republic of Ireland” in 1949.
Eire is a derivation from the word Éiru,
an old Irish word for the matron goddess of the Island.
It is used as her being the personification as the goddess of sovereignty.

I would’ve loved for Ireland to be called Eire.
It's a name that breathes all the peace its eyes proclaim.
